That time of year again. Given that Brigid is often depicted as a blacksmith herself I simply can't help but see a forged Brigids cross as wholly appropriate at this time of year.

My 10-year-old boy learning how to skate with some kind of metal thing. Yes, we failed this Canadian test. The Canadian husband didn’t hold up his end of the deal.
Poorly made Brigid’s Cross. Made from willow switches (don’t recommend).

#Imbolc2025 taught the kids to loom knit, skated (not me), sledded, #BrigidsCross, winter fire, got seeds, cleaned the house, cleansed the house and forgot to defrost the lamb (d’oh)!

Rough looking Bridget’s cross made of willow switches.
Willow proved not to be a great substitute for reeds. Cat tails were too brittle. Private property and unknown safety of swamp lands prevented gathering floofy topped grasses.
