Out on a woodland walk through Bleadon Woods this morning looking for Orchids, couldn’t believe our luck when we heard and saw 2 Grasshopper Warblers along the way. Love to hear that ‘reeling’ and another reminder to always expect the unexpected! #bristolbirding #ukbirding

Washing a few dishes.. watching out the kitchen window. The usual charm of Goldfinch about... a Robin perched in the fuchsia. Male Blackcap flits in then off next door. A Chiffchaff hops about plant to plant. A Wren disturbs the Robin, then a second Wren emerges - a pair, lovely! #bristolbirding
A view out to the reservoir. Grey skies. Reed beds either side
Male tufted duck
Female tufted duck
Greylag goose with its orange beak open. Black headed gull and Canada goose behind
Little visit out to Chew this afternoon.
Quite a lot of people out there today.

This chiffchaff has been on Gratitude road since Christmas. Pale throat and breast, brownish above with yellow on the super-c, feels Scandi/Northern. Appreciate looks and light can be deceiving. #BristolBirding
Return to S Gloucs today to see the Penduline Tits at Aust after seeing the single bird in Nov, showed great and one of 5 nfy species. Nice to see the 3 birds together briefly when they flew into a hedge to have a communal preen #95 fty #bristolbirding #birds

More Stonechat and Linnet... this time back on a local familiar walk through Lamplighters Marsh NR (Bristol) today. Tide was too high for any waders to be about on the River Avon, although did get a flypast from a Grey Heron and a Cormorant. #bristolbirding #ukwildlife

Made the most of a nice sunny Friday morning with a walk from Portishead sea front, to Battery Point, through East Wood and the marina, and on to Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve. Having a flock of Long-tailed Tit land nearby while at PWNR was a delight. (28.11.25) #bristolbirding #birds #ukwildlife
Today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #MorningLight (thanks @alan678.bsky.social) - So here's a couple of pictures of Rock Pipit taken at Battery Point, Portishead, this morning. There were at least 6 around on the breezy coastal headland today. #bristolbirding #ukwildlife #birds

A chilly couple of hours at Chew Valley Lake this morning but beautiful in the sun. A Peregrine put on a great performance from Stratford Hide and an Otter took a casual stroll. Whoopers still at Herons G Bay, lovely to hear them call to each other. #bristolbirding #ukbirding
After dipping several in the past this Penduline Tit at Northwick Warth was a long overdue uk tick ✅ #bristolbirding #birds
