The square design centers on a dramatic photo taken looking up at a turkey vulture swooping in to roost in a tree. In the upper left corner is the logo for Hinckley Buzzard Day, sponsored by the Hinckley Chamber of Commerce. The headline says, “It’s Buzzard Day! Annual Celebration in Hinckley, OH.” There’s also a credit line at the bottom, that says, “Many thanks to the Hinckley Buzzard Day Facebook page for their logo, and to Cleveland Metro Parks for the “flying Turkey Vulture” photo.”
Today is #BuzzardDay in Hinckley, Ohio! It’s their annual #community #celebration! Traditionally the day the turkey vultures return there to roost, this #annual #event has been going on for 69 years!

PS: in the U.S. "buzzard" is a colloquial term for the Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura), not closely related to birds commonly called "buzzards" outside of the Americas. But feel free to celebrate any and all of them for #BuzzardDay!

Watercolour illustration of a buzzard, stood on the ground. It has plumage in shades of brown and white, fluffy pantaloons, and alert eyes. The name ‘Falco Buteo Common Buzard’ is noted above the illustration. ‘Isle of Wight’ is noted in the bottom right-hand corner.
Good morning to everyone, but especially to all the buzzards, for today is their special day!
This illustration of a common buzzard comes from a 19th volume containing watercolours of birds by an unknown artist.
