I can get about one hard thing done a day: so just watched the snow fall here #CBJuneau #LingítAnní (have to shovel to drive out tomorrow night: weʼve had at least two inches and the forecast is for snow through the night). I did finish income tax forms (at least one runthrough) .
start of the new year: #AlaskaFolkFestival is nearly here. Concerts, workshops, friendly conversations as music fills downtown #CBJuneau. Audience will be in the halls, at local businesses, on radio airwaves #KRNN, and with notes and photos on Facebook. Free to Perform, Free to Attend Guests […]
34 F (forest also airport) 2 pm, Mar 27 #CBJuneau
clear and sunny, snow piles are still tall (yes, Iʼm an avid #Fensterfreitag follower)
4:15 pm: 34F, medium snow
We were shovelling the 5 inches from the last day or so, and during our hour, another half inch fell.
Weʼve heard that at least one food truck is iced into its winter spot for at least another three weeks. Plows did not keep up even on busy downtown streets yesterday […]
11:30 am, 38degress F on sheltered porch; near #CBJuneau
pleasant enough, but it snowed another 3 inches year (last 24 hours)
#MyAlaskaWx
3 pm Monday: sunlight, 35 F (on back porch near forest buffer); snow accumulation much less than forecast
reported 32F at airport and snowshowers for days to come
#CBJuneau
nearly 2 pm, near Juneau, snow is drifting down, but probably donʼt need to shovel today (and my wrists appreciate the rest) #myAlaskaWx #CBJuneau
noon Mar 5, near Juneau, above freezing so snow on deck rails has fallen as has much of the snow on the trees. Workout Report: third day in a row of shovelling path and parking pad. Today was shorter time, much wetter heavier snow. Forecast is for the slush that is falling to turn to rain […]
10:40 40 degrees (steady these days) Went to sleep to the rain hitting my tin roof, now there are drops off every twig and branch Methinks itʼs a good day to be cozy inside #MyAlaskaWx #CBJuneau
Monday night, clear and the aurora was impressive. I saw green with pillars and then amazing ripples and waves across the Big Dipper and a fairly wide sky. 23:45 Alaska ST

Monday 4 pm Steady rain and 42 F #CBJuneau #MyAlaskaWx
the berm at the entrance of the drive is not melting away, the snow on the roof has mostly slid off (just some of the ridgeline is still there) Avalanche Hazard is high (with concern for effects of this rainy storm).
9:00 pm in forest (not avalanche hazard area) #CBJuneau 40 F, and the brackets holding up the gutters are straining and popping as the snow starts to shift. We’re okay with not driving through puddles. #MyAlaskaWx
Thursday report: no new snow fell after I woke up, so we scraped away the couple of inches from evening, then moved the walls of snow back a few inches. Somehow it didnʼt seem easier than in the previous few days. Major project was clearing the mailbox from the big snowplowʼs berm. #CBJuneau
Juneau Tuesday noon.
Yes, still snowing here
I estimate that since Monday afternoon we’ve had another 8 inches here (when I go out to shovel I’ll check the depth) by the number of steps covered)
City offices announced they’d be open at noon

Took a deep breath and posted a statement that Taxes pay for what we need (to Friends on Facebook)

History question: Does anybody know about the district court case (certainly before 1930) HC Strong vs Juneau-Alaska Company (the mine)? Iʼve seen a newspaper clipping and the witnesses, "white and Indian", mentioned, but not an explanation of what was at issue nor what was decided. #CBJuneau […]
Election coming up municipal ballot with some uncontested seats and three tax proposals. Iʼm hoping we donʼt cut city services (a likely result of imposing a tax limit) #CBJuneau #election
Summer…warm dry days here but mushrooms popping up in the forest and lots of this year’s spruce cones nipped off and dropped to the ground and dark is coming earlier
#MyAlaskaWeather #CBJuneau
Summery day. I cut back the salmon berry branches that were overhanging the driveway. Did stop pruning long enough to harvest blueberries (both dark almost black ones and dusty blue ones) Next step will be to clip the blueberry branches and haul all the slash into the "compost" heap deep in the […]
