Three key takeaways from our social media event on a campaign showcase, including: 1. uthenticity drives engagement - Leverage authentic voices through mission-led ambassadors, micro-influencers, or UGC to build trust and connect with audiences in ways that overly branded or in-house produced content cannot. 2. Think beyond the launch – Successful campaigns plan across the full cycle, from pre-launch momentum, through peak engagement, to post-campaign follow-up. Planning across all stages ensures impact lasts beyond a single moment. 3. Flexibility maximises impact - Real-time evaluation, active community management, and the freedom to adjust content or approach keep campaigns relevant. Being agile allows teams to respond when plans or performance shift.

In pink box title reads Three key takeaways, Event title black text on white background Next gen engagement: How to reach Gen Z. In pink boxes, three top tips: 1. Trust is earnt, personal, and not always guaranteed - Share your impact and be accountable to continue building trust. Use personal voices and faces to connect audiences with your cause. And make sure reactive content marries your values and potential by being rooted in purpose.

2. Make sure Gen Z can actively be part of the cause. Being hope-based, solutions-focused or educational means Gen Z feel they can contribute to conversations or change on the issues they care about most.

3. Channel youth creativity for better storytelling - Provide checklists, context and clear briefs so young people can create impactful content they feel ownership over, with your message and mission at its heart. #CCSocial Media. CharityComms logo.

Three key takeaways from our social media event on impactful social media campaigns include: 1. While the #YouAreNotAlone viral campaign video garnered over 300 million views, Daniel Williams recognised that not all campaigns will succeed similarly. This campaign was developed using learning and insights from previous efforts to effectively engage audiences on mental health. 2. Conducting a project pre-mortem can be a great tool for anticipating challenges and making informed choices, such as language and imagery, before a campaign launches on social media. 3. Luan Wise shared practical tips on how charities can leverage TikTok, from optimising content for search (using titles, keywords, captions, and more) to capturing attention, experimenting with photo posts, and much more.

screenshot of one of my slides from the event. But isn't it really quiet? Yes but engagement can be stronger. Some accounts have grown very fast (like the Merl and Full Fact). You get what you put in.

Thank you @charitycomms.bsky.social for bringing me in to talk about Bluesky at today's #CCSocialMedia network event looking at safer spaces.

There was lots to cover. The sector is growing here but engagement is patchy. Some accounts are doing really well. For others it is early days.
