Image of first quarter Moon from 25th March.  The Clair Obscura effects of the Lunar X and V are visible on the terminator.  The effect is caused by sunlight hitting features like crater walls while leaving leaving the surface in darkness, causing our eyes and brains to recognise an X or V shape.
