The prominent crater Copernicus, showing terraced crater walls and numerous small craters outside the walls.
Plato and Sinus Iridum. Plato is the lava filled crater to the right of the image, and Sinus Iridum (bay of rainbows) is to the left, showing the 'golden handle' effect.
Prominent craters Tycho and Clavius in the Southern Uplands. Clavius has numerous internal craters visible, down to less than 4km in diameter.
Three images of the Moon from a very windy night in Edinburgh with poor seeing. #CFF160 🔭, #TeleVue 2.5x powermate, #Touptek 585 mono camera. Best 25% frames from 1000 frame (1500 frame for Copernicus) videos, stacked and sharpened in AstroSurface. #astrophotography
On 25th Feb '26 I photographed the #EyesOfClavius #ClairObscur effect. This animation shows how much the Sun had risen over #Clavius between 18:01 and 19:40UT. #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor, #ZWO #ASI120MC camera, #Televue #Powermate5x. #Oxfordshire, UK
Lunar images I took on 25 Feb '26 when the Moon was 64% #WaxingGibbous. I love this lunar phase because the lighting is great over so many of my favourite regions. #WilliamOptics 70mm #refractor, #ZWO #ASI120MC camera + #Televue #Powermate 5x. #Oxfordshire, UK
Waxing crescent Moon with North up. Mare Crisium is in the top right.
Close up of the Moon showing prominent craters Langrenus (upper) and Petavius (lower, with prominent rille at approximately 8 o'clock)
Close up of Mare Crisium showing a couple of filled craters and some wrinkle ridges.
Short period of clear skies in Edinburgh just after sunset allowed me to get 3 pictures of the crescent Moon. #CFF160 🔭, #TeleVue 2.5x Powermate for the two close ups, and #Touptek 585M camera. Best 25% frames from 1500 frame videos, stacked and sharpened. #astrophotography
Jupiter showing the Great Red Spot in the South Equatorial Belt. Bothe Equatorial Belts are visible, and the northern one has an irregular boundary
Also took 6 x 60s videos of Jupiter, derotated with WinJupos. #CFF 160 🔭, #Televue 2.5x powermate, #ZWO ASI585MC camera. Best 25% stacked in AstroSurface, then de-rotated, then sharpened. #astrophotography
Thin crescent Moon, showing Mare Crisis and craters near the terminator
Close up of the crescent Moon showing the prominent craters Langrenus and Petavius. Petavius is identified by the rille running from the central peak to the south west
A couple of Moon images from Edinburgh tonight. #CFF160 🔭 and #Touptek 585 mono camera. The zoomed in image used a #Televue 2.5x powermate as well. #astrophotography
Jupiter, showing the Great Red Spot to the right of the disk, with Ganymede's shadow almost central.
Not the best seeing - in fact some videos were like looking over a bonfire - but you take what you can get! 13 x 60s videos, best 25% stacked, derotated in WinJupos, then sharpened in AstroSurface. #CFF160 🔭, #TeleVue 2.5x powermate, #ZWO 585MC camera. #astrophotography

Jupiter showing details in the main equatorial belts along with a white oval in the south temperate belt
Imaged Jupiter in a brief clear spell. #CFF160 🔭, #TeleVue 4x powermate, #ZWO 515MC camera. 1 x 75s video and 4 x 60s videos, stacked in AstroSurface, derotated in WinJupos, sharpened in AstroSurface. Minor colour balance in PixInsight. #astrophotography
Jupiter is in the centre of the image, with moon Io to the left. This image was taken about an hour before Io will transit the disk of Jupiter. The two equatorial belts are prominently seen on Jupiter's disk, with dark ovals in the North Equatorial Belt and smaller features in the south.
Jupiter and Io about an hour before Io's transit of Jupiter. #CFF 160 🔭 #TeleVue 2.5x powermate, #ZWO ASI585MC camera. Single 90s video, stacked and sharpened in AstroSurface. #astrophotography

Jupiter from 3 January, with moons Io far left and Ganymede closer to the planet. Jupiter shows the Great Red Spot centrally in the South Equatorial Belt with white ovals and some dar spots below it. The North Equatorial Belt shows some white ovals and some blueish cloud structures.
Rainy and cloudy here in #Edinburgh, so I reprocessed 6 x 60s Jupiter videos (50% frames stacked) from 03 January, using #LuckyStackWorker to de-rotate and then sharpen. The moons are Io (far left) and Ganymede. #CFF 160 🔭, #TeleVue 2.5x powermate, #ZWO ASI585MC. #astrophotography
An image of Jupiter from 15 January, with moon Io just appearing from eclipse to the left of the disk. The two main equatorial belts have lots of details, with the Great Red Spot in the south equatorial belt with white clouds trailing in its wake. Below the GRS are two white ovals, and various smaller dar spots leading up to the SEB. Between the two equatorial belts, some blue clouds are visible.
I reprocessed 7 x 60s videos of Jupiter from 15 January to get this detailed image, with Io just appearing from eclipse to the left of the planet. #CFF160 refractor 🔭, #TeleVue 2.5x powermate, #ZWO ASI585MC. Best 50% frames, derotated in WinJupos and sharpened in AstroSurface #astrophotography
