On 25th Feb '26 I photographed the #EyesOfClavius #ClairObscur effect. This animation shows how much the Sun had risen over #Clavius between 18:01 and 19:40UT. #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor, #ZWO #ASI120MC camera, #Televue #Powermate5x. #Oxfordshire, UK
Lunar images I took on 25 Feb '26 when the Moon was 64% #WaxingGibbous. I love this lunar phase because the lighting is great over so many of my favourite regions. #WilliamOptics 70mm #refractor, #ZWO #ASI120MC camera + #Televue #Powermate 5x. #Oxfordshire, UK
A ball of mostly blue stars with a few orange stars scattered in & a small ring like planetary nebula which is the remains of an exploded star.

Shot in the New forest this Messier 46 star cluster with a planetary nebula.
Sunday was the 5 year anniversary of capturing this #InternationalSpaceStation #LunarTransit. We were in lockdown at the time but our house was below the transit centre-line & the #ISS passed over #Copernicus #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor #ZWO #ASI120MC camera. #Oxfordshire UK
Oval shaped due to incline, this galaxy has tightly wound bluish arms & darker orange dust lanes.

My backyard shot of spiral galaxy Messier 88, 50-60 million light years away in the constellation Coma Berenices.

Messier 95 a barred spiral galaxy 33 Million Light years away in the constellation of Leo. The core & bars are orange with blue ring like structure & delicate spiral arms.
Messier 96 a spiral galaxy in the constellation of Leo 31 million light years away. The central core is amber with distinctive dust lanes & faint arms extend forming an oval around the centre.

A couple of Leo galaxies, Messier 95 & 96 shot last night from my Lee on solent backyard with a William Optics FLT110 F7 scope.
Here is my stacked image of the #EyesOfClavius, taken at 18:08 UT 25 February 2026 from #Oxfordshire, UK. #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor, #ZWO #ASI120MC camera, #TeleVue #5xPowermate.
A star filled background, red supernova remnant, pretty blue irregular shaped cluster adjacent a smaller compact orange star cluster.

The Jellyfish nebula / supernova remnant & open cluster Messier 35 NGC 2158 shot from my soggy backyard.
#Jupiter from #Oxfordshire UK 24 Feb '26. #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor + ASI120MC camera, shot with #Celstron 3x Barlow then a #Televue #Powermate 5x which was pushing it a bit! I merged a different exposure for the Galilean moons
Rich in H-alpha and oxygen emission, this region is a stellar nursery where radiation and stellar winds actively sculpt the surrounding gas. You are seeing a dramatic snapshot of star formation in action.

The crab nebula Messier 1, supernova remnant in Taurus shot from my backyard.

My first backyard shot of the year is the star cluster NGC 7380 & nebula SH2-142 know as the Wizard nebula in Cepheus.
image shows the rosette nebula, an HII region that has shells of red gas in circular layers that resemble a rosette around the outside with little nebulosity in the centre. Some people think the shape resembles a human skull. There is a bright star cluster almost in the centre and the whole nebula is surrounded by a black sky and numerous faint stars
#RosetteNebula in Nov '25 from #Oxfordshire, UK. #WilliamOptics 70mm refractor, EQ5 Pro mount/permanent pier, astro-modded #Canon1100D + #AltairQuadband filter. 150 x 2min + 30 darks, total exposure of 5 hours. I was losing the sky to dawn light at the time of imaging #Astrophotography

The Tulip in Hydrogen-alpha: Tulip Nebula Sh2-101 and the surrounding HII region in Cygnus, centered on the open star cluster NGC 6871. 60x300-second subs, 5 hours total integration time. Location: backyard, coastal New Hampshire, US. #astrophotography #astronomy #nightsky #ZWOAM5 #williamoptics
The Space Cat was already set up and ready to go, so that's what I'm imaging with tonight. William Optics SpaceCat51 and the ZWO AM5 EQ in the backyard. I have the ZWO ASI2600MM-Pro Mono camera, 3nm narrowband 48mm filter set on tonight #WilliamOptics #SpaceCat #ZWOAM5 #astrophotography #astronomy
#sun in H-alpha light today. First light with my vintage #IsleOfMan #coronado ASP60 filter and BF30. Made in Europe, unlike later Coronado's. Excellent contrast for a 20+year old filter. Telescope was a #WilliamOptics FLT91. Player One Neptune M camera.
