Its head spans 1.5 light-years, tail 8, containing enough material for several suns & exhibiting ongoing star formation. A distant galaxy is visible in the background, over 100 million light-years away. The image shows CG4's relationship to the Vela Supernova Remnant & the Gum Nebula.
