CVPR@Paris: what a fantastic and refreshing event this was: awesome talks and poster, great researchers, amazing food and fantastic organizers. Let's do it again @vickykalogeiton.bsky.social @davidpicard.bsky.social @matthieucord.bsky.social #cvprinparis #cvpr2025
Presenting LiDPM today at #CVPRinParis, such a great poster session, many new acquaintances and curious questions! #cvpr #cvpr2025
Next stop: #IV2025.
Achievement unlocked: having Alyosha at our FUNGI poster, the one person I had in mind when working on this paper on cheap and better representations for k-nn classification and not only #cvprinparis #cvpr2025
Alyosha: (2) For years we were really lucky to compare on the same test sets. Compare that do medicine where you can't test multiple vaccines on the same person. Although noisy, we can get some signal and stats even from such settings. But should be humble about data always. #cvprinparis #cvpr2025
Great question from @hildekuehne.bsky.social: What can we do about recent practice of comparing models trained on different data?
Alyosha: Tricky. (1) We should acknowledge data as part of contribution. #cvprinparis #cvpr2025
Always appreciating the stories from the research trenches, especially from Alyosha: here he was telling how as a reviewer he suggested a simple and strong baseline, k-nn (what else?) to tone down the claims but open perspectives and understanding #cvprinparis #cvpr2025
