D27: Drama I Want More People to Watch.

#CallMeChihiro for the reason I mentioned below.

This #jdrama didn't have enough conversations in my feed (maybe because it's also 2023) but it's one of the best gentle found family story I've seen this year; Arimura Kasumi was luminous in it.

But if you do manage to piece them together, #CallMeChihiro is suffocating in such a good, warm, way. I can't really explain it. You're just watching three people having a casual conversation while eating a yakisoba, and all of the sudden you're tearing up, and you can't explain why. You just do.

And I'll forever say this, #Jdrama are just too damn good at their use of negative spaces and Ma (間), and #CallMeChihiro is one of the prime example for it. The entire narratives has a lot of intentional blank spaces that demands your attention to piece them. You either lost in it, or appreciate it.

I was wrong; my #kdrama was so ready for a ktrauma level ambush here, but I should've trusted my #jdrama sensibility to carry me from start to finish without a last minute trauma.

#CallMeChihiro was a gentle, beautiful story on found family, loneliness, connection, and everything in between.

Ugh...they really made Chihiro such an affable and affectionate character that my red flags are blaring.

Why does it feel they're setting me up for something tragic here.
