Caltex re-enters Namibian market under new partnership

The Caltex fuel brand has officially returned to the Namibian market with the launch of a newly rebranded service station in Windhoek, operated by Bachmus Oil and Fuel Supplies (Pty) Ltd.
The new service station, located in the Southern Industrial area, represents the first of several planned outlets to operate under the Caltex brand following a strategic partnership between Bachmus and Chevron Brands International LLC.
The managing director of Bachmus, Corne van Schalkwyk, said that Caltex has long-standing ties to Namibia.
“This is a proud and historic moment for Bachmus. The Caltex brand holds a special place in the hearts of Namibians, and we are honoured to lead its return, not just as a symbol but as a promise of consistent quality, superior service, and local empowerment,” he said.
The inauguration of the service station marks the official reintroduction of a familiar fuel brand to motorists.
The new service station will offer Caltex with Techron additives, a premium fuel formulated to clean engine parts and improve engine performance.
According to Van Schalkwyk, customers will also have access to Caltex-branded lubricants and modern convenience offerings aimed at delivering an enhanced retail experience.
Senior representatives from Bachmus, Chevron, and various industry stakeholders attended the launch event.
Speaking on behalf of Chevron, Danielle Lincoln, vice president of Chevron International Products, said the partnership aims to establish Caltex as a trusted name in the region’s fuel sector.
“We are proud to partner with Bachmus in bringing the Caltex brand back to Namibia. Chevron is committed to delivering superior quality and reliable energy solutions to Namibian motorists. By leveraging the strength of the Caltex brand, our objective is to position Caltex as a leading and trusted name in fuel solutions within the region,” she said.
Founded in 1994, Bachmus has grown into one of Namibia’s leading fuel and lubricant providers, serving sectors ranging from mining and marine to agriculture and transport.
The company, over the years, expanded its footprint with depots in Walvis Bay, Windhoek, and Ondangwa and is preparing to open another in Katima Mulilo.
According to Van Schalkwyk, the relaunch of Caltex in Namibia will not only improve service delivery in the fuel retail sector but also bring fresh investment and job creation as the company scales up its operations across the country.
According to Lincoln, Chevron, which operates globally across the energy spectrum, is working to grow its presence in emerging markets.
She said that the collaboration with Bachmus is expected to provide long-term benefits to Namibia’s energy supply chain while maintaining a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction.
