#Carmentalia - celebrated 11 & 15 January in honour of Carmenta, #Roman goddess of childbirth, mothers, midwives & prophecy. Women brought offerings to her Capitoline temple; animal products were forbidden. Originally Nicostrate, she was mother of Evander & invoked as knowing past and future.
