I've done a few repairs on the 5/5mx also. The hinge spring clips are, shall we say, vulnerable... I'd love to redesign the entire housing with, say, Asus #Ceraluminum supported by titanium pins, but make the whole thing #OpenSource user-serviceable, while retaining the Psion feel... :-)
