The image shows four deep blue berries highlighted against a background of fern fronds. The plant is Clintonia, sometimes called Blue Bead Lilly. I took this photo on the Boreal Life Trail at the Paul Smiths VIC. Clintonia (named in honor of the former governor of New York, DeWitt Clinton) is a native wildflower that flourishes in a wide variety of habitats in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. It produces small yellow flowers in late spring and porcelain blue berries in mid-summer. It is a member of the Lily Family.
For the #coloraday theme #BlueTue, I submit the deep porcelain blue berries of #Clintonia, also known as Blue Bead Lily, for obvious reasons.
