And @mayor.nyc.gov keeps patting himself on the back saying that schools are open tomorrow, people should go to work & yet over here in SI not a single plow down my street in >24 hrs. Here’s yet another post from a neighbor nearby. #closetheschools
Farewell, my quiet and peaceful commute. 😔

Bus all to myself. I fucking love commuting in the school holidays. #CloseTheSchools
Wie war das die Menschen die sich in Deutschland impfen lassen wollen sinkt?
Dann siehts ganz schlecht für Deutschland aus. Statt 70% bis Herdenimmunität ist es mit #b117 nötig 80-85% zu impfen. #impfpflicht #ZeroCovid #StayHomeSaveLives #CloseTheSchools #HomeOffice
Too late to go in
Too soon to come out
In, out, in, out
Mess us all about
Tory partial lockdown
Keeping open schools
What's it all about?
Woah to partial lockdown

Money spent
Health stretched

Apparently Johnson is appearing as a guest on #Marr tomorrow... How nice..
Is it just me thinking that, in view of the data today.. he really should be addressing the nation, not going for an easy ride on an interview show?

Has anyone seen the Labour Party today? Anyone? Can you all check behind your sofa?

If the penny finally drops & you realise you made a grave error of judgement ignoring what everyone qualified was saying all along, put it right - don't hedge your bets with mealy-mouthed half measures, do a proper U-turn & close the schools, all of them, NOW! #CloseTheSchools
Do not endanger teachers and support staff lives unnecessarily #backtoschool2021 #COVID19 #CloseTheSchools
Bertrand Russell: “The effect of mass production & elementary education is that stupidity is more firmly entrenched than at any other time since the rise of civilisation.”
Full lockdown, including schools & the economy now. Anything else would be stupid!

The latest govt figures show that not only do infection 'rates remain highest among secondary school-age children...' but that 'over the last week, increases in the positivity rate can ONLY BE SEEN in secondary school-age children...' #CloseTheSchools ...
Do Covid conspiracy loons have a short memory? When schools closed earlier this year, this simply meant that most kids didn't go in. The teachers kept working - both in class for key worker kids and for remote teaching. They didn't just stop. #closetheschools
I wonder if hashtag suggestions with slight variations are designed to stop something trending on Twitter? Solution: use all the hashtags. #CloseSchools #CloseSchoolsNow #CloseTheSchools #ClosetheSchoolsTomorrow #CloseTheSchoolsNow
The numbers are worse ... it's winter so everyone's stuck inside for more of the day with higher transmission. Last lockdown took from March until June to flatten the curve. And we're trying to do it this time in a month with schools and universities open??? #CloseTheSchools
Are schools closed nationwide yet? #CloseTheSchools twitter.com/ByMikeBaker/status/12385...
I'm sure #CloseTheSchools is mostly started by people that dislike school, but I don't think it's a bad idea as long as you make sure students are remote working.
#CloseTheSchools - because kids can carry it and then hug Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, even if they don't get a bad case themselves - and because Italian doctors wish they had closed them earlier there.
We have to learn from others or be taught a lesson the hardest way.
