Coimbatore's BEST Kept Secret! 🤫 Othaparai Malai Hill Trek & Hidden Vinayaka Temple 🕉️🏞️ Welcome back to #DeveshPrabhuVlogs channel! 👋 Today, I am taking you along on a short but memorable adventure to one of Coimbatore's most serene and lesser-known spots - Othaparai Malai. 🏞️ If you're looking for unique things to do in Coimbatore city that take you off the beaten path, this video is for you. This hidden gem is a fantastic option for a quick escape into nature, a peaceful mountain trek, or just a quiet spot to reflect. A Christmas Day Adventure 🎄 On December 25, 2025, my friend and I decided to ditch the usual holiday crowds and explore this beautiful hill located near #Periyanaickenpalayam, just a short drive from the main city. We started our journey around 10 AM, excited for a bit of trekking and fresh air. The weather was perfect and the initial path seemed inviting. 🌤️ The Climb & A Big Mistake 🥵 What started as an easy nature walk quickly turned into a bit of a challenge! The climb up Othaparai Malai is more demanding than it looks. By the time we reached about three-fourths of the way up the mountain, we were completely exhausted. 😅 And here’s a pro-tip for anyone planning this trip: Do NOT forget to carry water! 💧 We made the rookie mistake of leaving our water bottles behind and we dearly regretted that decision as the sun beat down on us. The thirst was real! So, if you add this to your list of coimbatore trekking places, make sure hydration is priority number one. A Hidden Temple Surprise 🕉️ Despite our exhaustion and thirst, pushing through was worth it. At the three-quarter mark, we discovered a small, open-air temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaka (Ganesha). 🐘 It’s a incredibly peaceful spot with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Usually, in a Vinayaka temple, you would expect to see a Mooshika (mouse). But here, facing Lord Vinayaka is a statue of Nandi, the divine bull who is the vahanam of Lord Shiva! 🐂

I finally got the chance to visit the much-talked-about, newly opened Semmozhi Poonga! 🌳🌷 This isn't just any #park; it is truly becoming Coimbatore's pride. Located centrally at Dr Nanjappa Rd, ATT Colony, Gopalapuram, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu - 641018, India, this massive botanical garden is a game-changer for the city. It was recently inaugurated by the Honourable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Thiru M K Stalin, and the excitement among the locals has been huge! 🎉 I decided to make a family day of it and visited this beautiful poonga with my loved ones. 👨👩👧👦 In this trending shorts video, I want to give you a quick glimpse of our pleasant trip and share our first impressions. From the moment we stepped in, we were blown away by the sheer scale and beauty of the place. The landscaping is impeccable, featuring a vibrant array of native and exotic plants, perfectly manicured lawns and serene water bodies. 🌺🦆 It feels like a lush oasis amidst the concrete jungle. The air felt fresher, and the sounds of traffic were replaced by the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves. It's the perfect spot for so many things: a peaceful morning jog, a fun evening picnic with family, a romantic stroll or just finding a quiet corner to sit and read a book. 📖 There are dedicated play areas that the kids absolutely loved and plenty of beautiful spots for those Instagram-worthy photos! 📸 Honestly, though, this video only scratches the surface. The #SemmozhiPoonga is HUGE! We spent a good few hours walking around, soaking in the nature vibe, but we realized very quickly that we hadn't even covered half of it. To fully explore every themed garden, walkway and corner of this massive park, I reckon it would require at least two full days! 🤯
