Een vogel met gespreide vleugels neemt een aanloop over het water om op te stijgen. De vogel heeft een wit lichaam met een grote kastanjebruine vlek over zijn schouders en een zwarte kop en snavel. De vleugels zijn grotendeels wit met donkere uiteinden. Op de achtergrond is het water licht van kleur en onscherpe groene vegetatie te zien. Het spatwater laat zien dat het dier net van het wateroppervlak afkomt.

Un tadorne de belon (sorte de gros canard à la tête noire à marron foncé, au bec rouge, au ventre blanc barré d’un collier roux et aux ailes foncées) en train de patauger dans un étang peu profond à l’eau qui renvoie son reflet ainsi que le bleu du ciel et les couleurs de la verdure environnante. L’oiseau est de profil et marche vers la droite de l’image. Derrière lui, on voit que l’étang est à sec et laisse apparaitre de la vase.
Le #BirdOfTheDay du jour : n’importe quel canard (ou proche) donc voici un Tadorne de Belon très distingué.
