Infrared image of the "Mountains of Creation" in the W5 nebula (IC 1848), a stellar nursery in Cassiopeia. Spitzer Space Telescope data reveals clouds of gas and dust sculpted by stellar winds, with newborn stars emerging from the cosmic clouds. This region, about 70 light-years across, is part of the larger Heart and Soul Nebula complex.
