I found a less steep way up the hill this morning, so the ascent took half the run, but I didn't have to stop running.

On my first #couchto5k run I gave up around 16 minutes due to exhaustion and my max HR hit was 200. (I have IST, so this is normal for me to get that high). Today, on my second run, I was about to give up and suddenly I heard "cool down" through my headphones. I made it the whole 30 minutes!

Week 1, run 1 of #CouchTo5K done. Was alright. Long way to go but got to start somewhere. Foot hurts a little but I think I just need to loosen my laces.
I used to run 5K fairly frequently and I want to start again. Itโs been 3 years since I last did one, so Iโm thinking doing the #CouchTo5K program is probably the best route back.
I ran my flat route this morning for a treat, but here's a photo from my hilly run on Wednesday morning over Dolgellau from above Cae'r Dderwen.

It was a hard run according to Apple. I donโt actually know enough about running to explain this stuff but Iโm not really worried about ALL the data, my average pace was 10โ41โ/KM and I went 3.57KM. 2.87KM was running, the rest walking for warm up and cool down, each 5 minutes.
This was rough but Iโm glad I didnโt give up. Sonic is emoting for me. I took an additional 15 minute walk after this hoping to get my heart rate down closer to 100 but it stayed near 150 until I sat in my car a while lol now to go home and shower!!!!!!!!

I also did my #couchTo5k today. For the first time EVER IN MY LIFE, I ran for eight minutes without stopping. TWICE!
Couldn't do it in high school. Couldn't do it in my 20s. Did it today, at 43.
Next run is a 20 go. I'm not holding my breath, but we'll try!

Week 5 run 3 I hit 2.9 K distance (warm up cool down included), so I doubt Iโll do a 30 minute 5k on my first try.
Maybe after week 9, once a week Iโll run/walk the distance? 5 on 5 off? What do people do after โgraduationโ when theyโre slow? ๐ข
