A short story split between two images of Gosetsu and Anzu dressed in festive attire.
"Saint Gosetsu! Saint Gosetsu!"
The chorus of children welcoming them was expected, and brought a smile to Anzu's face. Especially as it brought a loud chuckle from the man beside her dressed in bright red. She put down the sack of gifts they'd brought, her smile widening as Gosetsu was nearly trampled by excited laughter and small feet. It'd become an easy tradition, now, to spend this day with the children of the Enclave each year.
Her husband chattered happily with the children, gesticulating wildly as always to earn yet more shrieks of laughter. She reached down to unravel the back, trying to be sneaky-
"Saint Anzu!" one of them called, and soon the whole of them were looking at her now with awe. "Are those for us?"
"Why, of course," she said, smiling as she handed the first present out. "I may be strong, but I wouldn't be carrying this large sack of gifts around if it weren't for some very important children!"
Her heart warmed at their delighted faces and the hand at her back.
A short story, split between two images of Gosetsu and Anzu. Part 2.
They took turns handing the gifts out, ooh-ind and ahh-ing appropriately at each unwrapped gift. The first year they'd done this, the gifts had been simple, carved and crafted directly by Anzu's hands - now, with full support of the King, they were able to enlist other skilled craftsman too. Aling with the concerted effort to decorate the orphanage and the stalls of the Enclave, the children had much to be glad for every Starlight. THough they had no children of their own, the joy they were able to bring to the young ones of the Enclave was more than enough.
She heaved a small sigh as the last of the gifts went out, sitting at the nearby table and content to watch the children play and chatter about their gifts.
A soft clink disturbed her thoughts and she looked up into Gosetsu's twinkling eyes. She murmured a thank you for the tea, squeezing his hand as he sat across from her.
"Energetic as always," he said, grinning as he sipped his tea.
"Some things never chance," she laughed.
It's December so now I can post 'My Friends Love Me' part (1, technically, but 2 because I'm posting it second)
