A small grey bird with a white belly. Feathers in the wings show a small amount of brown. The distinctive eyeliner look of the dark eyed junco is prominent. Short white beak. The bird stands on concrete in front of some mulch. Birdseed hulls are everywhere.
Here i believe is a slate variation of the dark eyed junco.

This Dark-eyed Junco flew up onto a fence a couple of doors down. Then flew closer into the back yard Birch trees to continue his cleaning.

A handsome gray and white bird is perched on a branch, with snow-covered conifers in the background. The upper parts are charcoal gray. The belly is snow white. The bird has dark eyes, a small, pale bill, and a very long tail. This is a Dark-eyed Junco, part of the sparrow family. This species has been nicknamed a "snowbird" due to its presence in the U.S. during winter. This bird mostly feeds on the ground, which doesn’t always make for a nice background, so I was lucky to get him on a tree.
