A landscape oriented image in which on the right hand side we see a bronze bust of Deborah Devonshire with a backdrop of trees. Deborah Devonshire who was the youngest of the Mitford sisters, the older ones being known for various exploits some of which scandalised society in the 1940s. Deborah married Andrew Cavendish in 1941, who at the time was the second son of, but his elder brother was killed in the Second World War and so Andrew became heir and eventually he and Deborah became Duke and Duchess of Chatsworth. Deborah was a very astute businesswomen and takes huge credit for commercial success of Chatsworth today, especially after the huge death duties incurred on the death of her husband’s father that at the time threatened to see it broken up.
