Diabetes is a long-distance challenge, not a sprint. Over time, high blood sugar can damage blood vessels, increasing risks of stroke, heart attack, & poor circulation in legs & feet. Healthy eating & regular movement help. Remember ➡️ small steps add up! #DiabetesAwarenessMonth

On the right side of the image, a graphic of family and friends enjoying a thanksgiving meal. Text says: "Enjoy holiday eating while living with diabetes! Eat close to your usual times to keep your blood sugar steady. If your meal is served later than normal, eat a small snack at your usual mealtime and eat a little less when dinner is served.

If you have a sweet treat, cut back on other carbs (like potatoes and bread) during the meal.

Don’t skip meals to save up for a feast. It will be harder to manage your blood sugar, and you’ll be really hungry and more likely to overeat.

Start with vegetables to take the edge off your appetite.

No food is on the naughty list! Choose the dishes you really love and can’t get any other time of year, but slow down and savor a small serving, and make sure to count it in your meal plan"

The Cost-Effectiveness of Intermediate-Acting, Long-Acting, Ultralong-Acting, and Biosimilar Insulins for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus: A Systematic Review - PubMed Long-acting insulin may be cost-effective compared with intermediate-acting insulin. Future studies should directly compare biosimilar options and long-acting insulin options and evaluate the long-term consequences of ultralong-acting insulins.

It's #DiabetesAwarenessMonth! In this study, our Knowledge Synthesis Team compared the cost-effectiveness of different types of insulin.

See what they found! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35341688/
