Jimi Hendrix was one of many musicians Dick Cavett gave air time to on his network TV show. He also had Janis Joplin on and even took her on a date to see a movie. You can buy a few of his episodes on home video, but alas very few. Wish someone would start a syndication network or streaming channel which had all the old talk shows like this, Tomorrow, Donahue, David Frost, Letterman, and so on 24/7. Some of the master tapes were probably erased, tossed, stolen by employees, etc. but there are so many hours of footage that no doubt enough remains.
