Voices of digital feminism: a comprehensive analysis
In the contemporary era, an important status has been gained through social media platforms for expressing ideas, especially for feminist and marginalized women, which allows them to share experiences and challenges with sexism, misogyny, and patriarchal practices. This study analyzes bibliometric data on digital feminism from the Scopus database from 1999 to 2024, which explores its scope and impact within scientific publications. Boolean operators and filters were applied to identify 954 bibliometric databases, which were then examined by utilizing VOSviewer software to visualize relationships among publications using cluster maps. The findings of the study are divided into three sections classified as publication timeline, countries of affiliation of co-authors, and citations. The outcome of the present study is categorized through the bibliometric networks of data visualization to demonstrate the improvement in correlations and comparative strengths in publications. A total of 954 articles on digital feminism from 1999 to 2024 were identified in the study, with research contributions primarily originating from the USA. The highest citations have been acknowledged to Rosalind Gill's works, with a joint total strength of 13,666. Additionally, analysing the visualization networks provides insight into current research in this field. The present analysis identifies the gap in the literature and paves the way for further research in the field.

Patriarchy’s like old software — you update the interface, but the bugs stay the same.

Less “get back in the kitchen,” more “wow you’re so articulate 😉.”

It’s still about taking up your time, your calm, your attention.

Other women on Bluesky: I thought this was going to be a little safer than Twitter, maybe with less obnoxious sexism.

Welp — fewer crude comments, but a lot more “Hey girl” energy in the DMs. Progress? #Yuck
