St Michael’s Mount, a small island with a tiny “castle” on top of it, catches the eye in this photo. It is slightly out of focus, because I had to zoom in to get this view. It is a little hill of an island, and isn’t cut off at low tide; it is impossible to see if it is cut off now, because the island slides off the side of the picture. But in front of it is blue sea, then masses of sand with brown seaweed splashed across it. The entire beach is empty, as is the sea, and you can see no one on the island either, so the entire area looks quite still, quiet, and deserted. The sky is light blue, and the waves gently lap on the shore.
