On the cover of the classic Drawing Down the Moon, by Margot Adler, is a photograph of a woman with raised arms silhouetted against the bright sky and ocean, as she stands on a dark beach, within a circle of candles. In addition to title and author, text gives the subtitle, "Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers, and Other Pagans in America Today," and the note that this is a revised and expanded edition. Originally published in 1979, a sociological study of paganism in modern America, the book was an inspiration and guide to many, and was reprinted in four revised and expanded editions, the most recent being in 2006. There's also an unabridged audio edition, produced by Tantor Audio, and narrated by Pam Ward.
