All the debate about #Autistic Barbie made me think: a Barbie with #Dyspraxia would be amazing, if the right #Dyspraxic people & charities focusing on this topic were spoken to. I think it's vastly underestimated just how much willingness to provide feedback on it would emerge pre-launch.

As a fellow #dyspraxic gal, I pretty much have given up on eyeliner or lipstick unless I happen to be experiencing a day where I have all the time in the world to do my makeup.

Shoutout to the #Dyspraxia Reddit community for doing the good work of recommending books on dyspraxia by #Dyspraxic authors to the rest of the #DCD community that are actually good, including my own! www.reddit.com/r/dyspraxia/...

This book is one of the very few books aimed at #Dyspraxic university students, featuring actual input from my own lived experience, as well as insights from individuals who have navigated university as dyspraxic students before, and university faculty and educators.

As a #Dyspraxic myself, I must say that this is a great way to explain #Dyspraxia!

Public Speaking with Dyspraxia: My Journey to Confidence
Public Speaking with Dyspraxia: My Journey to Confidence YouTube video by Rosemary Richings

I did a vlog on how my feelings and experiences with public speaking have changed over time as a #Dyspraxic #Neurodivergent person & where I think a lot of my #Disability community's anxieties about public speaking are coming from. Just released it today. youtu.be/laPtKDErlpo?...

I had the honour of reading an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an endorsement, which uses a combination of engaging & approachable language to introduce readers to #Dyspraxia in a context that can easily be understood. Plus @oneill-lotty.bsky.social is #Dyspraxic herself 🙂

My next YouTube video will go live on Tuesday at 9 AM UK time. The video will offer my honest feedback & explanation of the Hidden Sunflower Lanyard program & what it takes to get something valuable out of it. Check out #dyspraxic Rosie Writes on YouTube if you're interested in watching.

I have pretty intense auditory-based sensory processing issues (I am #Dyspraxic), so sometimes it's a little tricky for me to absorb what people are saying in noisy settings without assistive tools like earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones. Subtitles are also excellent for this purpose.

Do other autistic people use “finding fingers” to locate objects? I need to either point and turn to focus my attention and find the object or need to wiggle my fingers while looking at each surface individually. For some reason, it works 🤷‍♀️

The loneliness of neurodiversity celebration week events and content when… | Rosemary Richings I greatly respect the progress made on Neurodiversity Celebration Week and other similar #Neurodiversity awareness-raising events over the past few years…

The main issue with #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek that i have is as a #Dyspraxic person, i feel like we’re largely left out of the events & conversations themselves. I reflected on this over on linkedin: www.linkedin.com/posts/rosema...

How NOT to Talk to a Dyspraxic: Understanding Communication Do's and Don'ts Join us for an enlightening and light-hearted session focused on improving communication with individuals who have dyspraxia.

My life advice for #Dyspraxic young adults is to ignore anyone who says that your way of doing household chores, self-care tasks, DIY activities, or sporting activities is wrong. If you manage to do things without hurting anybody, the bottom line is finding a way to do things that works for you.

Any other #dyspraxic folks out there who really, really *fucking hate* seatbelts?

This is a shame because so many of us grow up being told by our elders that university is the route to better opportunities, good jobs, higher salaries, etc. That's why, when my book is finally released, I hope to help #dyspraxic students navigate support in a more well-informed, confident way.

#Dyspraxic students are flying under the radar because they're getting lost under an umbrella of support that relates to people's assumptions about what all #Neurodivergent people need. In some countries, their needs are not even understood or addressed.

Writing a book about studying (at university) with #Dyspraxia and conducting interviews with #Dyspraxic students and faculty as part of my research process taught me something: yes, there are more dyspraxic students out there than most people know about, especially when we count former students too.

A summary of the findings from a #Dyspraxia and wellbeing study, especially notable because #Dyspraxic adults were studied, something that doesn't happen as often as it should. movementmattersuk.org/wp-content/u...

I love this definition as a fellow #Dyspraxic. I play the Sims with mods that add #Neurodivergence to the game, and based on what the dyspraxic Sims are like, I would say the modder agrees with that interpretation, too!
