Committee reports four additional education bills out of committee; most passed unanimously The committee voted to advance four more education bills: paid bereavement leave for educators (reported as passed with fiscal impact absorbed by SDE carryover funds), expansion of allowable digital payments for college savings, a $50 million SRO/school safety plan, and adding 20 minutes of recess for full‑day kindergarten; all four were reported as do‑pass, mostly by unanimous votes.

Colorado Senate adopts package of bills on early childhood, mobile‑home protections and plug‑in solar; approves Denim Day resolution On April 1, 2026, the Colorado Senate adopted several House bills and committee reports on third reading — including measures updating early childhood licensing and universal preschool funding, protections for mobile home residents’ drinking water, and rules easing plug‑in solar access — and unanimously adopted a resolution designating April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and April 29 as Denim Day.

The Colorado Senate just passed groundbreaking bills that enhance early childhood services, improve mobile home drinking water quality, and expand access to solar energy for renters!
