Digging up old things. Lattice refitting is a much better technique but I was able to get somewhat decent results by combining I think Surface Deform with some other modifiers.

I adore soft thighs, and once again gorgeous art made me go look for my venus.blend.. which needs a lot of work.

But in looking I ran into Guen's distinctly not soft but lovingly crafted gams so enjoy both the hardest and the softest of thick thighs:

Rooftop view of Guen's heavily muscled back as she is doing some yoga again. She's nearly horizontal and the view is therefore from the small of the back, with the groove of the spine and the muscles of the upper back seen tailbone toward neck.
