One half completed up to the point before uniting at the back. A piece of L-shaped garter stitch fabric worked in an oatmeal-colored shade of unspun Icelandic wool held with a similar shade of mohair/silk. A small tab at the top is the cast-on at the back of the collar, followed by a front panel of this vest.

The collar has been grafted, and suddenly the piece begins to make sense as a vest. Here, the vest is folded forward to show the tops of the fronts and back ready to be joined at the shoulders.

The plan for i-cord finishing: Atop the knitted fabric is the oatmeal Plotulopi (Icelandic unspun wool) with a lustrous hank of dark blue silk/mohair yarn and a pair of double point needles.

I spent the last week at home with a nasty cold, for which I lost holiday pay. Gotta love corporate policies. But this knit kept me company through the turning of the calendar: Ribwarmer by Elizabeth Zimmermann. I'm ready for i-cord edging!

2/2 I enjoyed trying out a brioche pattern that's a bit surprising: it's bulky weight, knit flat, with only one row to follow. The seaming is what it is, but it made a quick and snuggly gift.
