#JoeKubert continued to expand his work on DC's war comics, such as creating #EnemyAce with writer #RobertKanigher, first appearing in #OurArmyAtWar #151 (February 1965), about a German fighter pilot during World War I. The character has been a cult favorite to this day.

One of the more unique characters from the war comics genre was #EnemyAce, created by #RobertKaniger and #JoeKubert, an ace German fighter pilot who fought in World War I & II. First appearing in #OurArmyAtWar #151 (Feb. 1965), he provided a fresh perspective from the German side of both wars.

Color picture where the light source comes from above and shadows cast on our cast of characters harshly. Miku is in the forefront, gripping the presumably map of operations with color-coded pins stuck in it. She looks nervous, sweating. Hans, the tall man next to her, has his hand on the map with confidence and his other hand on his hip with arrogance. He's dressed in his army uniform along with his Blue Max, as he's turning back to Chris with a quizzical look. Chris, dressed in her S.O.N.G uniform, appears to be very irritated and informing him of something. Mayhaps it has to do with the placement of the color pins? After all, Miku appears fixated on a little golden one...

Alita is on a stage with her giant complicated piano setup, stopped for a moment in her tracks. She looks surprised as Reuben stands in front of her stage, leaning on the edge of her piano with his hands. He's in his Plex uniform, showcasing his usual charming smile at her. In the background at the top, we only see the boots and shoes of likely dancers. That floor is too shiny.
Color picture. Mostly pastel colors, soft to emulate the changing of Fall and the change of weather and colors. Hans and Ishtar are wearing modern clothes--he, a long coat, pants and red shirt; she, a denim jacket, boots, and a long ankle-length red dress that pops out from under her jacket. They are both holding coffee cups. Hans' expression is one of mild surprise, as he's drinking from his, while Ishtar is holding hers and smiling, looking at him as if she's acknowledging some recommendation of hers. Oh, and behind some tree or something is Ishtar's bodyguard, Feff. He's dressed very conspicuously: black sunglasses and an all-leather closed coat. Just like Goths! Man's really worried about Ishtar, isn't he?

LOOKIT THIS HANDSOME MAN HE'S SO MUCH BETTER HERE, I mean uh, proper alt text is the character Hans in a intro circle in an homage to old comics from the 1960s. The Iron Cross of the first World War is behind him with a red background, while he's looking to the side with a serious expression. He's holding up the Ace of Spades, representing his own top rank as the Greatest of All Aces from the Great War.
The cover to the first issue of the comic series "Guns of the Dragon", published by DC Comics. For the purposes of this post, I'll only point out the difference between the previous picture and this one, where Hans' intro circle features him in his pilot garb in profile, with a blank background that only has the small A and the Ace of Spades.
