Finished watching the #Cdrama #EverlastingLonging, and it was good. It was high medium good, like…decent. I wish the writing was a little tighter, a little more inspired, but I did make it to the end without wanting to quit too intensely. (I often have strong urges to quit watching things.)

I’m not trying to convince you to watch it, but I will say it has a fair amount of camaraderie mixed in with the main drama - meaning there are very warm secondary characters
Although it’s a different story, it has a bit of the same energy as #EverlastingLonging (with Angelababy & Song Weilong)

The actor is Peter Ho btw, who has been in some really good dramas - I remember him from #FightingYouth & #NothingGoldCanStay - but he’s also had lots of more recent support roles such as in #EverlastingLonging
He can play evil characters very well too - he’s the evil king in #UnchainedLove

Wang Yiting - I’ve seen her in support roles a few times, & she was a more main character in a recent drama called #EverlastingLonging (which also involved Song Weilong, tho as here, they weren’t the OTP)

I enjoyed #EverlastingLonging overall, & I’m a bit biased because I like Angelababy! so I was ok with her being coldly manipulative when she needed to be (remember that she had to grow up in a society that looked down on women so much that she had to pretend to be a man to carry on with business)

I'm considering dropping #EverlastingLonging... Anyone else in the same boat? I like the story (although it appears quite simple) and the ML and most of the characters EXCEPT for the FL. While I like her being smart & mentally strong, she's too manipulative & calculating for my taste 😅 #cdrama

#EverlastingLonging (2025) has the worst CGI I've seen in a while and some moments of pure nonsense, but so far, it's been entertaining. The FL is resourceful & has a strong character, it's refreshing, & the ML is very charismatic. Oh, did I mention the earrings? The sexiness is strong in this one 😅

If you liked #EverlastingLonging there’s a currently airing drama in a similar - albeit more light-hearted - vein as that, called #LoveandSword (with Gao Wei Guang & Xuan Lu)
I’m actually quite enjoying it (I’m up to ep 6). It’s got deserts and some action and a fun set of characters.

I've saved this week's eps of #KillMySin for a weekend binge. Meanwhile I watched #EverlastingLonging (because of #SongWeilong's masculine gorgeousness!) It was meh. Plot holes, disliked the FL character and the campy, OTT "comedic relief." (Hint: not all writers/directors can pull off a #JoyOfLife)
