In the first panel, Alisaie somberly says, "Though it pains me it must end this way, Grandfather would never want to live as--" and is cut off by a "munch munch" sound. The next panel focuses on Dax, while an angry Alisaie off-screen asks, "Is that fucking popcorn?" (He is, in fact, holding popcorn.) In the third panel, Alisaie, with a small Alphinaud in the background, angrily says, "You are about the face the greatest mage in Eorzea, so I need you to lock the fuck in--" which is cut off by the speech bubble from the next panel, which says, "Alisaie." In that panel, Dax continues, "It's okay. I'm not going to be fighting Phoenix." The final panel widens as Dax says, "She is," pointing behind him to a Miq'ote framed entirely in shadow, holding Gae Bolg and grinning maniacally. Above her head, the text reads, "<<Knight of Alexandria>> LV 100 J'alia Windscribe."

SOU SETA enters Living Memory carrying a Nymeia lily. All dialogue is their thoughts. "I guess this is what you wanted. To exist as a ghost here, indefinitely. Freed of the burden of a soul. The burden of new choices; of consequences. Of the fear that you could ever get it wrong."
"I am sorry that I could not allow that to be." Sou places the lily, then begins to dedicate their respects in the Hingan style. "Dear Calyx. Whe'er that singularly brilliant soul of thine may be."
Sou continues to pray in front of the memory terminal where Calyx's Endless had resided. "I do hope that, this time, thy will may find a place and manner to remain in this world without finding itself rejected from thy personhood for its weight."
A long-gone memory is revealed: Ivy, the Azem of eld, eyes wide with shock and rage as they are murdered by an entity they had mistaken to be an old confidant. The souldeep trauma is impressed upon them: I DON'T WANT-- "I love you." The souldeep trauma echoes through Calyx: --TO DIE-- as he screws up his eyes tight, bracing against fear and pain. Whether this is the moments after his defeat, or a memory from his time in his natal body, is unclear. "and" Finally, the souldeep trauma echoes through Sou, for it belongs to them as well as Ivy and Calyx: --ALONE. Their expression, by contrast, is blank as they look up towards the true Calyx's chosen place of rest. "I forgive you." For clarity: Sou's full dialogue: "I love you. And, I forgive you." The full souldeep trauma, a notion imprinted on all of Ivy's shards, either in part or in full: I DON'T WANT TO DIE ALONE. The implication is that the original Calyx was one incarnation of Ivy's 9th shard, and that Sou's sense of kinship towards his Endless is fully founded in truth.

SOU SETA, trotting through Solution Nine with their coffee: "Maybe you can't taste anything, like the old Endless who asked to be switched off. "But food was still important to lots of them." SOU looks around. They're all alone, but they're looking up and about for something...
SOU spots what they're looking for: a surveillance camera. They seem pleased, looking down the lense. SOU SETA: "Drink some with me." SOU's glowing amber eye, the same colour as the Azem sigil and the interdimensional key, stares through multiple monitors. SOU SETA: "OK? Calyx?" CALYX stares silently. He is listening. Some unreadable thing sits on his face. Tiny reflections of SOU's eye glint in the corner of his.

S: "Shepherd to the stars in the dark." SOU faces ENDLESS SPHENE with a stern frown; their hand is on their chest, too, but in the open-handed gesture left from pulling the sigil out. S: "Seeker of truth" S: "finder of false gods" S: "and counsel to *all* People who hail from this Star."
A'IDES NUNH and G'RAHA TIA look on, both proudly. A'IDES is wearing his black Emet-Selch mask. SOU SETA: "My counsel to you, Queen Sphene of the Endless:" KRILE BALDESION frowns in singular determination. SOU SETA: "Change your course." WUK LAMAT and ERENVILLE watch as well. ERENVILLE seems a little nervous, while WUK LAMAT has her eyes on the future. SOU SETA: "Or you shall *find* it changed."

POSEIDON: The name? POSEIDON: Oh, it's silly. We found a lot of vents down there, as I outlined, and they somehow reminded me of my little brother... POSEIDON. Environmental researcher for Words of Mitron, collecting information about ideal habitats - water parameters, pressure, etc. Spends a lot of time at the bottom of the ocean. HADES, his little brother that he's raising.
