The image is in landscape orientation. We see a woodland quite early on a misty morning. Across the bottom of the frame is scrub with a fence almost lost amongst it. On the right are the trunks of five slender silver birch trees. All are upright except the middle one that leans into the frame. Beyond them, central in the image is a lone blossom tree glowing slightly in the mist and half light. The image contains muted oranges, yellows, reds and greens as the trees and shrubs are heavy with buds waiting to burst forth as spring progresses.

A black and white image of countryside in the Chiltern Hills near Amersham. International camera movement (ICM) has been used to lightly blur the details but hopefully enhance the mood. A blustery day with broken cloud meant patches of light and shadow moving across the landscape. The light falls mainly in the mid ground with shadow to front, rear and right.
I posted a straight image of this scene on Saturday but I’m going with a monochrome icm version for #ShareMondays2026
Hopefully this has the feel of a blustery winter’s day.

A landscape oriented image. Ahead of me are tussocks of grass and reeds, their colours autumnal they reach over a third up the image. Coming into the image on the left is a thicket of rhododendron and a large tree now devoid of leaves. Towards the right of the image is another large tree, also leafless. In the distance we can just see a pond glinting in the sun. The top of the image is filled with a beautiful blue sky with wispy white clouds. Below it in the distance more trees reach from one side of the image to the other. Though the sun is shining we can feel the onset of winter.

I enjoy photographing flower and almost always keep blooms as they begin to fade and die. Their beauty doesn’t diminish it simply changes. In this image I wanted to explore the relationship between these two flower heads and found them part way through a spontaneous dance reaching out to each other ready for the next lift or twirl. Placing them on a reflective surface added another dynamic. The flowers are cosmos from the garden 🌸

Framing the View A landscape oriented image. The frame is filled with a variety of trees, all moving into their autumn colours. A deciduous tree holds us in on the left and a tall redwood on the right. Across the bottom is a small strip of grass and above some lovely red leaves shrubs. Central in the image and the main focal point is an old stone arch. It’s one of the arches that leads into the maze in Chatsworth gardens.
The Great Conservatory A landscape oriented image. Three large trees in their autumn splendour virtually fill the frame. Two on the left and one on the right, their shadows starch away from us diagonally left to right on the ground. The composition is taken from low down in order to see below their canopys. Between the trees in the distance is the Great Conservatory. A wonderful building in Chatsworth gardens.
Secret Garden A landscape oriented image. The main focus of the image is a Japanese Maple, its vibrant red in colour. The trunk runs up left side of the frame and the branches arch across the image until they reach another acer on the right. A path runs into the image down the centre of the image, working as a lead in line.
Rose Garden A stitches panoramic image. There is quite fence fog which isolates the subject of the image. The rose garden at Chatsworth. It sits centrally boarded by two tightly clipped yew hedges. Stone columns run across the front and topiary yews within it. A beautiful old stone building sits at the back. To the far side of the rose garden, just outside of it, is a splendid holm oak vibrant orange even in the fog. A couple of other trees can be made out in the background but nothing else because of the fog.
