So, we're here because the people failed to choose representatives that would serve their interests. Either through lack of attention, education, care, deliberate interference and misinformation, or simply not having the time and energy resources necessary to pick better candidates. Democracy depends on having a functioning society first, empires crumble because they stop paying attention to the importance of our everyday lives.
