Other than a vacation from life (Kyrene's been there done that)
Kyrene's vacation would be more sentimental. She'd take the kiddo to see the homelands of her parents & imagine how different those places would have been thousands of years in the past when the parents (gods) were born

Funny enough, most of my primary MCs have both their parents, even if unknown.
So a wip I don't talk about much: #FallWIP

Kyrene's father is alive (better if he were dead probably) but her mother isn't. If her mother was still alive, Kyrene would probably still be alive (proper). Even if unhappy.

What if I said I had a secret wip idea (just in an idea-dump file rn) possibly set in the same world as #SailsWIP and #FallWIP featuring a virgin goddess and her most devout followers who are hellbent on deflowering her as a means of changing their religion?

i should clarify that the setting is a huge messy fantasy world/universe. i wanted complicated issues to infect the worldbuilding & characters. This is just one example.
In #SailsWIP it's more of a backdrop/texture to the world
In #FallWIP it's more prevalent but MC is more preoccupied with death

A final example (in two parts).
In #FallWIP the uprising of a merchant class in Tirin. At this point the noble class (godbloods) is all title, little political power. The wealthy and politically powerful merchants want the power and titles. The noble class is overthrown & godbloods are despised.

i could keep going on and on since it's a topic with a lot of complexity & I'm still working with it to try and do the complexity justice. No place at any given time agrees about this subject & world events in any given era ripples into the next.
