Amir's design is very much rooted in byzantine aesthetics. Distinctly middle-eastern with the interlinling scale plates and beautiful, curved plating that provides flaring protection and ample space for clothing underneath.
His inspirations lie in a thought I had when first listening to the song "HIDDEN PROTOCOL (release 2)" by P-Model. After that, I gave the idea shape by drawing something out and refining it over time. First it was just scaled armor, but over time I implemented the more distinctive motifs of Amoni armor - including the curved triangular plating with fluting. Very evocative of egyptian and turkish designs.
In a way, the 3 captains from Amon represent different monetary statuses and opportunities used as a result - except Amir is actually philanthropic and nice.
Quite the subversion from the norm.
Amir's keffiyeh was always a core part of his design - it emphasizes both where he is from, and showcases his culture - and that's why it's a core part. Amir is all about showing where he's from and why he's proud of it - yet about his personal life little is known.
In a way, he values his own environment more than his individual life.
