日本におけるMastodon普及のきっかけとなったmstdn.jpの元になったmastodon.nil.nuが設置された日で（2017年4月11日）で、ドメインを変えてmstdn.jpで建て直したのが翌4月12日なので、日本においても意味を持たせやすいかもしれません。
