A Common Kingfisher dives into the water from a perch on a harbour wall, its reflection visible in the water surface

The Kingfisher re-emerges in a spray of water as it shakes to remove water from feathers.

Ready to take to the air again the Kingfishers head is just visible above the harbour water.

The first wingbeats lift the bird back int the air

Not the greatest of images as the action was rather too far from the lens but it was a great thing to witness having never seen a Kingfisher dive and catch a fish before. The 5 shots show the dive and the re-emergence to fly off to a new perch.
