I'm quite happy with the outcome of this flower. I sketched it a few times, created a test paint, then finally painted this.

After feeling too lost in the details with my previous flower, something compelled me to pull back and be a bit looser on this one. There's fun details and I think it still captures what this pretty plant resembles.

I'm smitten with attempting the beautiful camellia whenever it's time for this art challenge. As a tea lover, we must praise camellias.

Last year got skipped, so this is my 2nd year of attempting this challenge!
To kick it off, I painted amaryllis belladonna.
I had the most fun painting the dappled petals!
