Quote on a blue background states: "A huge thank you to YOU, our citizen scientists, who collected vital data on freshwater health in 2025. Our global community is growing fast. 40 new FreshWater Watch groups popped up across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Ethiopia, Kenya and New Zealand this year. Our bi-annual Great UK WaterBlitz has become the UK's biggest freshwater citizen science campaign. We hope you join us again in April 2026!” Dr Sasha Woods, Director of Science & Impact

Just tested river water in Cricklade as part of the #GreatUKWaterBlitz with Earthwatch 💧

The results are clear: our rivers in the South Cotswolds aren't in good enough condition.

We need urgent action to stop sewage dumping and protect our waterways. #FreshWaterWatch #StopTheSewage

1st Callander Guides had a ball tonight taking samples and testing them for nitrates and phosphates to see how polluted the rivers are. We were pleased they weren’t - so I’m not pulling the plug on their canoeing and paddleboarding!

I took part in Earthwatch Europe’s #GreatUKWaterBlitz yesterday, sampling water at Christchurch Harbour.

Nitrate: 2.0, Phosphate: 0.2 — still a way to go for cleaner waters.
