Nice things I did for myself this week:

1. Attended a five-day embodied writing workshop series.
2. Found a place to take sewing classes in-person.
3. Started turning off all electronic devices before bed.
4. Attended #FridayNightComics
5. Ate a delicious pumpkin muffin from the farmer’s market

Spent some time tonight with @comicsworkshop.bsky.social for #fridaynightcomics and drew this little thing about Momo and Myself. The theme of the night was "comics as mindfullness" and it really has been something sitting with me.

Attended the free #fridaynightcomics zoom class with @comicsworkshop.bsky.social . Very new to comics especially telling stories in panels. This was my interpretation of the prompt- protagonist runs into someone they weren't expecting to see at the store. Grateful for learning new things!😍

A four-panel comic by me. Ink & watercolor. --panel 1) Me, in punker garb, saying to two shocked tourists in front of a Rothko painting, "I think I can help you understand this painting." --panel 2) A museum guard says, "Miss, you can't touch the art," as I crouch to move the balls of a Walter De Maria piece. I reply, "But it's what the artist intended!" --panel 3) Me in front of Van Gogh's Starry Night, marveling at seeing it in real life instead of in a book. This is a recent color experiment I did for my pigeon #comics at a #fridaynightcomics workshop by SAW

Comic strip panel 1. When I turned 7 I asked for a cake shaped like a log (I don't know why) and my mom made it!

Panel 2. She also made a big banner depicting me as an Olympic champion (It was an Olympic year). Banner pictured says happy birthday and has a set of Olympic rings and a boy with a medal around his neck. In the corner is a little character who looks like the famous Kilroy, who was here.

But she also included a little dig that made me mad. Closeup on kilroy saying, And he can't even ride a bike!

It took me forever to learn to ride, and I'm still not good at it. Picture of a very nervous bike rider hitting a curb.

I just learned about SAW and #fridaynightcomics. Fionn McCabe presented a very cool comics exercise.

Peanuts fan art. Lucy is in her psychiatry booth and Charlie Brown sits next to it on a stool. Charlie Brown says, I keep forgetting to change my oil. What if I never change it? Will my engine seize up on the highway? Will my car lose its resale value. Panel 2. Lucy: Take the bus. Five cents, please.

Tonite at #FridayNightComics, we explored our anxieties thru Peanuts with @lizyerby.bsky.social and Sequential Artists Workshop

Four panel comic strip, somewhat crudely drawn. The first image comprises panels one and two. We see an action figure and its hyped-up packaging. It's Big E! With action glasses! Stands up! Sits down! That seems to be about all he can do, because this action figure is not very articulated.

Panels three and four. He has fully removable glasses! He is annoyed you took his glasses off. Dozens of great ideas (sold separately). The ideas are represented by light bulbs, question marks, and exclamation points.
