Another week in my #dailydrawing book. The fire doodles came from a #fridaynightcomics workshop from #sawcomics. The quote is from my sister when we were texting about the flooding we're having locally. My friend made the brownie! #drawing #doodle #sketch #easternwashington #washingtonstate #wordle

Nice things I did for myself this week:

1. Attended a five-day embodied writing workshop series.
2. Found a place to take sewing classes in-person.
3. Started turning off all electronic devices before bed.
4. Attended #FridayNightComics
5. Ate a delicious pumpkin muffin from the farmer’s market

Panel 1: Rhari (R) and Momo (M); R rubs M's paws. Words float in the background "Living in Concern, a quick toes to nose check on kiddo..." M: cough cough
Panel 2: R holds M's paw in her hands, words in a rectangle: "Worry over swollen feet"
Panel 3: R's left side of face, a tear falling from her eye. "Hiding tears for hidden fears."
Panel 4: R hugs M while crying. M is barely holding on to R. First word box: "A check up disguised as a hug." below the characters, another box, "No Hospital... Not Now... At least not yet."
Words under the panels reads, "Friday Night Comics - Mindfullness. @Rhari "

Panel 1: M, looking tired: Cough Cough. R looks concerned from the background.
Panel 2: R, also looking tired, ears back. A thought bubble beside her, "Is this a cough I shoudl be worried about?" M's ears and hair from behind in the bottom right corner.
Panel 3: Thought bubble: "Is this going to be a hospital trip? Can we ride it out at home?" R looks into the middle distance, sad and resigned. Another thought bubble, "How do I know when to go..."

Spent some time tonight with @comicsworkshop.bsky.social for #fridaynightcomics and drew this little thing about Momo and Myself. The theme of the night was "comics as mindfullness" and it really has been something sitting with me.

Attended the free #fridaynightcomics zoom class with @comicsworkshop.bsky.social . Very new to comics especially telling stories in panels. This was my interpretation of the prompt- protagonist runs into someone they weren't expecting to see at the store. Grateful for learning new things!😍

A sketch of two small dogs running towards a deer who is also running away as their owner watches them from further back on the path.

A quick sketch from #fridaynightcomics workshop with #sawcomics We tasked with drawing one picture that captured a moment of being with something or someone we loved.

A four-panel comic by me. Ink & watercolor.
--panel 1) Me, in punker garb, saying to two shocked tourists in front of a Rothko painting, "I think I can help you understand this painting."
--panel 2) A museum guard says, "Miss, you can't touch the art," as I crouch to move the balls of a Walter De Maria piece. I reply, "But it's what the artist intended!"
--panel 3) Me in front of Van Gogh's Starry Night, marveling at seeing it in real life instead of in a book. A thought bubble reads, "I can't believe there's so much bare canvas."
--panel 4) A museum installation of this comic, a crowd looks on.

Speaking of college, this is a comic I made at a Friday Night Comics workshop (five minutes per panel!) about my young artist self exploring museums in NYC.

Comic strip panel 1. When I turned 7 I asked for a cake shaped like a log (I don't know why) and my mom made it!

Panel 2. She also made a big banner depicting me as an Olympic champion (It was an Olympic year). Banner pictured says happy birthday and has a set of Olympic rings and a boy with a medal around his neck. In the corner is a little character who looks like the famous Kilroy, who was here.

But she also included a little dig that made me mad. Closeup on
kilroy saying, And he can't even ride a bike!

It took me forever to learn to ride, and I'm still not good at it. Picture of a very nervous bike rider hitting a curb.

A little late posting this but had a great time at #FridayNightComics with E. Joy Mehr drawing comics about birthdays

A sketchbook page containing a 3-panel comic strip in colored pencil. All 3 panels have a blue background. Panel 1: two black silhouettes. Panel 2: one of the silhouettes has left, the other one is now alone. Panel 3: a single silhouette with a red heart.

Peanuts fan art. Lucy is in her psychiatry booth and Charlie Brown sits next to it on a stool. Charlie Brown says, I keep forgetting to change my oil. What if I never change it? Will my engine seize up on the highway? Will my car lose its resale value. Panel 2. Lucy: Take the bus. Five cents, please.

Tonite at #FridayNightComics, we explored our anxieties thru Peanuts with @lizyerby.bsky.social and Sequential Artists Workshop

Four panel comic strip, somewhat crudely drawn. The first image comprises panels one and two. We see an action figure and its hyped-up packaging. It's Big E! With action glasses! Stands up! Sits down! That seems to be about all he can do, because this action figure is not very articulated.

Panels three and four. He has fully removable glasses! He is annoyed you took his glasses off. Dozens of great ideas (sold separately). The ideas are represented by light bulbs, question marks, and exclamation points.

Another great #FridayNightComics drawing ourselves as action figures with E. Joy Mehr and Sequential Artists Workshop!

These 4 images form a 4-panel comic. Cartoony, simple, a bit crude. Panel 1. From the top left corner, the hand of God reaches out, surrounded by rays of sunlight, a tiny angel, and the label 'Heaven's Tractor Beam'. The hand reaches toward a ghost. The ghost has a round head and a puff of smoke for a body, large eyes and an x for a mouth. The ghost thinks, 'NO! I WANT TO STAY HERE!'

Panel 2. The hand of God is receding. The smoke curls around as the ghost heads for an old-timey iron (the kind that is just a hunk of actual iron with a handle). The ghost thinks, 'I'LL GO INTO THIS IRON'

Crude pencil drawing of a man standing on a small island in the sea. The island's only feature is a single palm tree. The man wears a cowboy hat, a plaid collared shirt, and boots. He holds a guitar and sings, 'I'M AN OLD SEA COW HAND...'

At this week's #FridayNightComics, we played with classic single-panel cartoon tropes (like the old desert island gag) and Emily Flake told us about Joke Math. So I added a singing cowboy to my desert island
