Well, #AnakKrakatau had an impressive magma display today and put out an ash/SO2 plume to 15km. @VaisalaGroup #GLD360 detected 154 #lightning events in the plume, 140 of them in-cloud (black dots). Nowhere near as big as the December 2018 event, which had more than 300,000!

#Raikoke Volcano: 4 distinct periods of #lightning activity in the previous 24 hours. @VaisalaGroup #GLD360 detected 753 lightning events, of which 642 were classified as IC, 111 as CG. Peak currents ranged from -64 kA to 105 kA.
There hasn't been #lightning associated with #Raikoke Volcano for the last 30 minutes. Between 1748 UTC 21 June and 0234 UTC 22 June, there were 623 events detected by @VaisalaGroup #GLD360. 539 were classified as In-Cloud, 84 were classified as Cloud-Ground.
