Attending this expo feels like stepping into a world where authors are as busy as I am—talking to readers, discovering hidden gems, and finding new connections. It’s a reminder that what we read is far more important than what we say, especially when it comes to the people around us.The energy at the library was electric. The atmosphere was casual yet inspiring, with vendors setting up booths, attendees mingling with others, and authors interacting with the audience on everything from coffee cups to bookshelves. The feeling of being part of a community that values creativity and shared passion is something I will always cherish.### Fun TimesOne of the highlights of the event was catching up with past selves—specifically Katelyn and Emma, who were both attending the expo in their youth. Katelyn, now 27, had been a regular visitor ever since joining at the start of the month. She still remembers how I’d walked into the library’s snack bar to meet her, feeling like an outsider but looking around to see others getting more involved with their books and stories.Emma, meanwhile, was still in her early twenties, sharing stories about her own experiences as a writer and the impact she wanted to make. But for now, she had yet to visit the library in person, until this event. The feeling of connecting with these individuals wasn’t just about the author themselves—these are readers who have become friends because of their shared love for books.What’s more impressive is how we all came together. The writers were there at different times, some setting up booths before I arrived, others waiting to catch a bus or ride a train back. We had coffee breaks, lunch specials that were as delicious as the stories we were sharing, and opportunities to chat with attendees on topics from poetry to writing tips.### New FriendsOne of the most exciting aspects of this event was the chance to make new friends—people who I hadn’t met before, but who are now part of my life. Many of these people were readers in their own right or had discovered them through the expo. It was a privilege to meet them and hear about their stories as well as mine.For example, one reader shared how she had been waiting for years to find time to write again—until this expo. She talked about how I was just another person looking out for the crowd, but in return, we could talk about our journeys together. It’s a small part of why this experience is so special—it feels like stepping back and redefining what it means to be a writer.### Reflecting on LifeAs I walked away from the library that evening, I couldn’t help but think about how much time I had left before my own blog project got off the ground. It was a reminder of how important it is to stay connected with others—both in the written and social form.
