Spending time playing games beyond the top-ranked titles is considered by Discord to be a "Game Discovery Behavior". In their 2025 presentation at GDC "Insights for Devs" the Discord team presented a data point which we've transformed into an infographic. Discord compared total playtime on games beyond the Top 10 between all PC players and Discord users over a 4 year time period (2020-2024) Discord players spent nearly 60% of their time playing "unranked" games vs. 35% for all players. Total playtime for games beyond the Top 10 was nearly double among Discord users. Discord is where #GameDiscoveryBehavior happens. Make sure your game has a Discord community strategy.
