La primera fue 256x224 (Versión de 2013)
La segunda 288x216 (Versión de OUYA)
La tercera volvió a 256x224 (Reboot de 2025)
La cuarta 256x192 (Posible actualización)

Probando a bajar la resolución de #Gaurodan de 256x224 a 256x192 para ver si puedo estandarizar la resolución en todos mis juegos. Al tener menos espacio vertical, todo se siente mucho más cuerpo a cuerpo. He tenido que ajustar unas cuantas cosas para compensar, pero parece que funciona bien.

Probando cómo quedaría #Gaurodan si bajo la resolución de 256x224 (versión anterior) a 256x192 (posible actualización para igualar futuros juegos).

Estoy probando esto mismo con cinco juegos a ver si se sostiene en todos.

I think that #ToxicTomb and #Gaurodan (2025 version) already do that. They're all about positioning yourself in the right place at the right moment. Maybe this is the direction my games are taking. This, the 20 min long mark, scoring mechanics that make things more spicy and a few things more...

This is what I've been studying for years: the reason why some arcade games become timeless.

I think I'm slowly getting there with games like #ToxicTomb or the new version of #Gaurodan, but I feel like I can do better. I just need real life to give me a little more room for game dev.

The 2013 game has been completely redone to fit my current vision of traditional arcade game design. It's denser (more levels but less overall length), with better pacing, mechanics and a proper scoring system.

It is much more polished than the original version in every way, but especially in gameplay. I'm happy with the result, and that's rarely the case.

Time for testing and fine tuning #Gaurodan

My plan is to release the update/remake of #Gaurodan on May 30th, coinciding with the "Día de Canarias" (day of the Canary Islands).

But I still need to prepare a bunch of things and I'm hella busy these days, so no promises here.

A full run of the new #Gaurodan is 19:43 including intro and ending sequences.

It is shorter than the previous version even though it is one (and a half) levels longer. 20 minutes is the sweet spot for arcade replayability (imo), so I'm pretty happy with this :}

Estos cuatro días libres he estado en modo WIPzerk y ya tengo el nuevo #Gaurodan terminado a nivel técnico.

Ya solo me quedar ir jugando para ajustar la curva de dificultad. Pero primero tengo que dejar pasar unos días para coger distancia y luego ver todo con más claridad :}

A monster that emerges from the lava. It resembles Biollante, but with a dog-like head, red body and tentacles with mouths at the ends.

The mouth work in the Biollante film is impressive for both monsters. Also, there's a cut where Biollante walks through some mountains that I've always thought was spectacular.

Btw, the final enemy of #Gaurodan is based on a Canarian myth, but it also exposes that I'm a Biollante fanboy.

El otro día testeando #Gaurodan me puse a hacer el tonto, destruyendo edificios sin darle a ningún árbol y al final he acabado convirtiendo eso en una forma de puntuar canon.

I'm super tired today, but I spent some time tweaking things for the #Gaurodan update/remake anyways.

The content is mostly done, now it's all about rhythm and replayability :}
