Blue Footed Booby chick, #genovesa Island, #Galapagos from a trip several years ago

An adult Red-footed Booby bird perches on a branch in a densely wooded area of Genovesa in the Galapagos Islands. The Booby has light brown feathers on its head and chest, with dark brown wings. Its face is light blue with a hint of pink just under the eye.

The Red-footed Booby isn’t as famous as its Blue-footed relative, but it does have some unique characteristics. Some adults develop white feathers and black wings, and others are all brown like this one.

I love the blue faces, though. 🪶
