A vertical photograph for Yellow Thursday featuring a bronze Green Tara statue. The statue is framed by a vibrant bouquet of yellow daylilies, which have been edited for a warm, golden glow. The photographer has carefully recovered the details of the Tara’s meditative face from deep shadow, highlighting her intricate crown and the rich green oxidation of the bronze. To the left, a deep red cinnabar vase with calligraphy brushes adds a scholarly texture, while a polished silver pitcher on the right provides a clean, reflective counterpoint. The lighting is soft and intentional, emphasizing the harmony between the spiritual icon and the floral arrangement.

Legend says Tara was born from a tear of Avalokiteshvara. He looked down at the world & saw the immense suffering, he wept. One of the tears fell to earth & formed a lake, & from that lake, a lotus grew. When the lotus opened, the Green Tara emerged.
